Gideon the Gopher

Meet Gideon, a little gopher who is about to discover that being small doesn’t mean being unimportant. Deep beneath a peaceful field lies a bustling town of tunnels, bedrooms and food stores—all built by busy little gophers. But Gideon is smaller than the others. While the older gophers dig tunnels and gather food, Gideon is often told that he is “too little” to help. Instead, he is given the job of lookout. Then one day, disaster strikes. A huge excavator begins tearing through Gopher Town, tunnels collapse, and Gideon discovers that his family is trapped underground. Suddenly, the little gopher everyone thought was too small may be the only one who can save them. As Gideon begins to doubt himself, his father reminds him that God never makes mistakes. His strong claws, powerful teeth, sensitive whiskers and sturdy little body were designed for a purpose. And he reminds Gideon of another Gideon—the man in the Bible who also thought he was too small and insignificant for the job God had given him. A heartwarming adventure that teaches children that God created each of us differently and for a purpose—and when He calls us to do something, we can trust Him to give us what we need.
