Meet Susan

Susan Burchett is a Christian author, wife and mum of three with a heart for helping children discover that the Bible is not simply a book for grown-ups—God’s Word speaks to them, too.
Growing up as a pastor’s daughter, Susan was surrounded by the teaching of Scripture from an early age. At eighteen, she made her own decision to follow Jesus Christ, beginning a lifelong love of studying God’s Word and a desire to understand and share its truths faithfully.
That passion took on a new significance when she became a mother. Raising three children of her own convinced Susan that some of the most important conversations about faith happen in the ordinary moments of family life—at bedtime, around the dinner table, while answering a child’s unexpected question, or simply while enjoying a story together.
It was from that desire that Little Lessons from God’s Creation was born.
Susan wanted to create stories children would genuinely enjoy while giving parents an easy, natural way to introduce meaningful biblical truth. By combining fascinating animals, relatable childhood struggles, Bible characters, humor and adventure, each story helps children see how God’s Word connects with the fears, choices, questions and challenges they experience themselves.
But Susan wanted the books to go deeper than the final page of the story. That is why each book includes Scripture, a memory verse, biblical application, discussion questions, prayer and resources designed to help parents continue the conversation at home.
At the heart of Susan’s writing is a simple conviction: children do not need a watered-down version of God’s Word. They need its truth explained in a way they can understand, remember and apply.
Her hope is that Little Lessons from God’s Creation will help parents plant those truths early—creating happy memories around God’s Word and giving children verses and lessons they may carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Susan lives in Texas with her family and hopes to continue Little Lessons from God’s Creation through the alphabet, introducing many more wonderful animals, Bible stories and timeless truths along the way.
