Helping Little Hearts Grow

Faith Through The Wonders of Creation

These stories were born from a simple desire: to help children discover that God's Word is not a dusty, difficult book reserved for grown-ups. The Bible is for them, too. God knows them, loves them, and His Word speaks into the fears, questions, choices, and challenges they face even while they are young.

Jesus Himself demonstrated the value He placed upon children:

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
— Matthew 19:14, NKJV

Children love animals. They love fascinating facts, funny moments, adventures, problems to solve and characters who face the same kinds of fears and struggles they do. That is why Little Lessons from God's Creation brings these things together with the timeless truth of Scripture.

Through lovable animal characters, children encounter people and events from the Bible in a way they can understand and remember. A frightened little creature can help them understand courage. A character who makes a poor choice can teach them about consequences and forgiveness. An animal struggling to fit in can remind them that God looks upon the heart. And even an Old Testament story written thousands of years ago can suddenly become a truth that speaks directly into a child's world today.

More Than Just a Story

I never wanted these books simply to entertain children or to reduce Scripture to a simplified moral tale. I wanted them to take children deeper into God's Word while explaining biblical truth at a level they can understand.

Each story therefore gives parents opportunities to go beyond the final page: Bible passages to explore, memory verses to learn, questions to discuss, animal facts to discover, and practical applications that help children connect God's Word with everyday life.

Because sometimes one verse is enough to stay with a child for a lifetime.

God tells us that His Word is “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12, NKJV). A verse learned around the kitchen table as a little child may be the very verse the Holy Spirit brings back to mind years later when that child faces temptation, fear, disappointment, grief or an important decision.

Our Children Are Our Mission Field

As Christian parents, I believe one of the greatest mission fields God has entrusted to us is sitting right inside our own homes.

Scripture tells us:

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6, NKJV

There is a spiritual battle for the hearts and minds of our children. We cannot shelter them from every voice they will encounter, but we can give them something far more powerful: a foundation built upon the Word of God.

Psalm 127 describes children as “arrows in the hand of a warrior.” Before an arrow is ever sent out, however, it must first be carefully prepared and pointed in the right direction.

That begins while our children are little.

We teach them who God is. We teach them what He has said. We teach them how to recognize truth. We fill their hearts and minds with Scripture and show them, through ordinary moments of life, that God's Word can be trusted.

That is what I want these books to help parents do.

Stories They'll Remember. Truth They'll Carry.

My hope is to continue Little Lessons from God's Creation through the alphabet, introducing many more wonderful animals, Bible characters, memory verses and biblical lessons along the way.

Most of all, I hope these books make it easier for parents and children to talk about God together.

I want a child to laugh at a character, become absorbed in an adventure, learn something fascinating about one of God's creatures—and then discover a biblical truth they will remember long after the story is finished.

Because God's Word meets our children right where they are.

And perhaps, while we're teaching our little ones, God may have a few little lessons for us grown-ups along the way, too.
