David the Dolphin
It's whats inside that counts
Meet Davey, a little spotted dolphin who wishes he looked like everyone else. Beneath the sparkling turquoise waters of the Bahamas lives a young dolphin named David—although everyone calls him Davey. God has given Davey all the wonderful abilities of a dolphin, but there is one thing about himself he doesn't like: his spots. While the other young dolphins are smooth and grey, Davey looks different, and their teasing makes him wish he could simply fit in. Then his kind friend Annabel tells him the true Bible story of another David—a young shepherd boy whom God chose to become king. Through David's story, Davey discovers something far more important than how we look on the outside: God looks at our hearts. A heartwarming story that helps children understand that God made each of us wonderfully unique, and what matters most to Him is the kind of person we are on the inside.
What Children Will Learn
Through Davey's story, children will learn that our worth isn't determined by our appearance or by what other people think of us. God sees much deeper—He sees our kindness, obedience, forgiveness, love, and the attitudes of our hearts. Children are encouraged not to compare themselves with others, but to recognize that God made them with care and purpose. They will also discover that true beauty is found in a heart that pleases God—one that is kind, truthful, forgiving, generous, and loving.
Biblical Lesson & Theme
God looks at your heart, not your outward appearance. People may notice what we look like on the outside, but God sees who we truly are. Davey learns that being kind, forgiving and obedient to God matters far more than looking like everyone else.
