Be brave enough to tell the truth

Meet Felix, a clever little fox who discovers that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply tell the truth. Felix thinks he is the cleverest fox for miles around. One chilly evening, he sets off to find supper for his family and decides that a plump chicken from the nearby farm would be just perfect. But Felix’s clever plan doesn’t go quite as expected—and before long, he finds himself in a rather embarrassing predicament with a watering can stuck firmly on his head! Then Felix meets Paul, a little rabbit he has spent years chasing. Instead of running away, Paul does something Felix never expects: he chooses to show kindness to someone who has been unkind to him. As Paul helps Felix, he tells him about another Paul—the Apostle Paul—who bravely shared the truth about Jesus with a powerful governor named Felix, even though doing so could have cost him dearly. A funny and heartwarming story that teaches children that Jesus came to save sinners, kindness can reach even the hardest heart, and loving someone sometimes means being brave enough to tell them the truth

What Children Will Learn

Through Felix’s adventure, children will learn that we cannot earn our way to Heaven by being good enough. Jesus came because we have all sinned, and anyone who truly turns to Him and trusts Him can be forgiven. They’ll also learn that sharing the gospel can sometimes feel frightening. The Apostle Paul knew Governor Felix had the power to punish him, but he cared enough about Felix to tell him the truth anyway. Most importantly, children are encouraged to remember that someone once loved them enough to tell them about Jesus. One day, God may give them the opportunity to do the same for somebody else. They can speak kindly and courageously—and then trust God with what happens afterwards.

Biblical Lesson & Theme

Be brave enough to tell the truth. Sharing the truth about Jesus is an act of love. We don't have to know how another person will respond, and we don't have to be responsible for the outcome. Our job is simply to be faithful, speak the truth with love, and trust God with the rest. This is the central lesson you reinforce in the Parent’s Corner and prayer.
